We are looking for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can take complete ownership of product development—from early-stage concepts to final production. This role goes beyond design, requiring a strong blend of engineering expertise, manufacturing knowledge, and business understanding. You will drive the entire lifecycle of physical products, ensuring they are not only technically sound but also commercially viable. The position demands hands-on involvement in prototyping, vendor coordination, and production execution, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building real-world products end-to-end.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end mechanical product development from concept, design, prototyping, to mass production
• Develop high-quality 3D models and detailed 2D drawings with GD&T standards
• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) processes
• Build, test, and iterate prototypes to validate design performance and reliability
• Manage vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiation, and quality assurance
• Oversee tooling processes and ensure smooth transition to high-volume manufacturing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, design, and project management
• Identify production risks early and implement engineering solutions to avoid delays
• Support manufacturing, quality testing, packaging, and supply chain activities as needed
• Maintain and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) using PLM systems
What Makes You a Great Fit
• 4+ years of experience with proven delivery across multiple product-to-market cycles
• Strong expertise in manufacturing processes such as injection molding, casting, extrusion, and CNC machining
• Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and design validation
• Advanced proficiency in CAD tools like SolidWorks or Creo
• Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM)
• Proven ability to manage vendors and work with global manufacturing partners
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate production challenges
• Experience working in fast-paced or startup environments with cross-functional responsibilities
• Ability to adapt quickly and take ownership beyond core mechanical design tasks
• Leadership capabilities with experience mentoring or guiding team members
