We are seeking a Senior Manager – Supply Chain Operations to spearhead the next phase of growth. This position consolidates network operations, procurement operations, planning, and the supply chain control tower under a single leader who will be responsible for availability, service, cost, and scaling across the network. You will take charge of an established network and a talented team, guiding both through their most significant growth period to date.
Requirements:
Your Responsibilities
• Managing the network, both present and future. Oversee comprehensive on-site operations across the Distribution Center (DC) and hubs, including inbound logistics, inventory control, picking, packing, dispatch, last-mile delivery, returns, as well as handling damage and expiry. The current network consists of one DC and two hubs, which will expand to two DCs plus four to five hubs during your tenure.
• Scaling and transforming the network. Spearhead the establishment of the second DC and the conversion of transit hubs into mini-DCs. You will be responsible for site selection, facility setup, launch, and operational stabilization—managing the entire process end-to-end.
• Planning and supply chain control tower management. Handle network capacity planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), peak period preparedness, KPI tracking, and demand-supply alignment. This role ensures disciplined scaling and consistent availability.
• Procurement operations leadership. Lead procurement activities as they integrate under the supply chain umbrella—overseeing vendor coordination, purchase order (PO) management, inbound scheduling with suppliers, vendor performance assessments, and related availability and fill-rate KPIs.
• Team building and talent development. Develop a strong leadership team to manage the network at twice its current size, including DC Managers, Hub Incharges, and Purchase Managers initially, followed by Hub Network Managers and Transport & Last Mile Managers as the network grows.
• Cost efficiency, productivity, and compliance. Monitor supply chain cost per order, labor productivity, fleet and space utilization; ensure compliance with FSSAI, fire safety, and labor regulations across all locations.
• Cross-functional collaboration. Act as the supply chain representative among Category, Store Operations, Finance, HR, and Technology/WMS teams, fostering procurement-operations synergy with Category as a vital point of interaction.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• SKU availability at stores and vendor fill rate with on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery from suppliers.
• Order fill rate and punctual dispatch to stores.
• Inventory accuracy and reduction of shrinkage.
• Supply chain operations cost per order at the network level and last-mile cost per order.
• Compliance with last-mile service level agreements (SLAs), labor productivity, and fleet utilization.
• Maximizing network capacity utilization and accuracy of demand forecasts relative to available capacity.
• Timely new site launches and efficient stabilization periods.
• Progress on transforming hubs into mini-DCs and achieving site audit and safety benchmarks.
What We Expect From You
• 8 to 14 years of experience in supply chain operations, including at least 3 years managing a DC end-to-end and experience overseeing multi-site operations involving DCs and hubs or multiple DCs.
• Experience in procurement operations or vendor management, including ownership of availability and fill-rate KPIs or managing purchase orders, vendor performance, and inbound planning alongside operations.
• Proven people leadership skills: managing a workforce of 50 to 150+ blue-collar employees and 5 to 10 managerial layers; focused on developing leadership talent rather than merely task management.
• Competence in both operations and planning, having led S&OP, capacity planning, or control tower functions in conjunction with execution.
• Industry experience in FMCG, retail, grocery, e-commerce, or quick commerce supply chains, with strong familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Order Management Systems (OMS), and dispatch technology.
• Commercial acumen to negotiate cost, availability, and capital expenditure trade-offs with finance and leadership, and confidence in vendor and third-party logistics (3PL) negotiations.
• Strong operational discipline—establishing effective review processes and routines that improve metrics without unnecessary formalities; proactive decision-making with imperfect data.
• Hands-on orientation—equally comfortable working on the dispatch floor and engaging in boardroom discussions; committed to spending substantial time on-site beyond dashboard monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to network design and modeling, including hub-and-spoke and mini-DC (forward stocking location) experience.
• Training or certification in Lean/Six Sigma; experience developing SOPs and audit frameworks from the ground up.
• Experience in Tier-2 or Tier-3 city operations in India; knowledge of Telugu or Kannada is a plus.
Why Join Us
• Opportunity to expand the supply chain operations from a single DC into a multi-DC, multi-hub network with consolidated procurement operations under one leadership.
• Full ownership of operations, procurement, planning, and control tower functions within a single role—providing clear accountability for availability, service, and cost.
• High autonomy and direct reporting to the Head of Supply Chain; your decisions will shape the network’s growth for the next five years.
• A leadership position within one of South India’s fastest-growing retail companies.
