Senior Manager, Software Engineering (PG)

Position Summary:

In this position you are expected to lead global Engineering teams on a multitude of products (like P4 Cloud, Perforce ALM and P4 Plan) that impact customers directly. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment with an interest in both SaaS offerings and legacy on premise offerings. On our team, you will be given a high degree of ownership and responsibility for the overall quality and delivery of every piece of software shipped.

We are seeking a talented Senior Engineering Manager who is experienced with managing development of modern cloud applications, preferably on Azure/AWS platforms with proficiency in full stack application development using GoLang, React and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

P4 Plan (formerly Hansoft) is a real-time planning tool built by developers, for developers, with the ability to track work and overall progress across a mix of methodologies.

Responsibilities::
• Lead a team consisting of highly skilled senior full stack developers.
• E2E responsibility for software product delivery and be responsible for managing production environments too.
• Drive the group to work efficiently and consistently following an Agile methodology (Sprint planning, daily standups, retrospective meetings, etc.)
• Ability to lead high visiblilty project by engaging with executive leadership team.
• Design solutions, evaluate architecture options, set technical direction and quality standards, guide implementation
• Work closely with key business and product stakeholders on building the technical and product roadmap
• Deliver customer value by independently designing multiple features, tests, and large parts of a single product within a team.
• Deliver multiple releases on time based on the agreed upon roadmap.
• Ensure timely shipment of enterprise-quality products over a range of platforms.
• Solid understanding of modern cloud applications and concepts, such as fault tolerance, scalability, and consistency.
• Drive initiatives to support continuous improvement of process, quality metrics, communication and tooling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
• Design and develop distributed systems, ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and performance.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance bottlenecks. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to improve software development processes and outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development methodologies and practices within the team.

Requirements::
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field required.
• Ideally 15+ years relevant experience (post education) preferably in large scale SaaS companies and solid development experience with enterprise grade products
• Experience working and leading geo-distributed team especially US
• Proficiency in any backend development preferrably in GoLang and React with a strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming principles
• Understanding of GoLang, Nodejs is a bonus.
• Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) principles and infrastructure provisioning with Terraform or similar tools
• Experience creating modern enterprise applications on Azure/AWS cloud environment.
• Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting for 24x7 cloud applications
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
• A collaborative, positive approach to working with others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong inquiring, problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset.
• Ability to identify and communicate cross-team dependencies.
• Ability to guide team members on best practices and processes to complete work.
• Experience working for a multinational company preferred.
• Awareness of the layers involved in full-stack development.
