Role:
The Senior Manager, Non-Financial Risk reports to the LCH Business Controls Officer and leads a team within the First Line BCO function. The role focuses on championing high-quality risk management practices, assessing and monitoring the risk profile of the ForexClear service, and ensuring compliance with risk appetite to promote a culture of risk excellence.
• Supports business colleagues in delivering and maintaining risk and control assessment, including risk evaluation and measurement, and ensures that effective risk remediation actions are identified to address control vulnerabilities
• Maintains and updates risk framework, ensuring sound risk governance, aligned with best practice and strategic objectives and effective reporting to relevant stakeholders
• Ensures all identified risk remediation activities identified for ‘Outside Risk Tolerance’ risks are tracked and reported within relevant governance forums
• Acts as a point of contact for business colleagues to provide assurance on the soundness of the risk management process
• Contributes to the collation and preparation of materials for relevant risk reporting committees
• Coordinates independent assessment of risks associated with new strategy, new products, major projects or overall risk profile provided to the business
• Provides leadership, coaching and development to the team to drive high performance and ensures resources are allocated effectively (where applicable).
• Supports the LCH Business Continuity Officer with the development of elements of the Non-Financial Risk Framework and executes on the agreed risk management strategies
• Works with significant authority and autonomy when maintaining relationships with relevant Divisional and Functional stakeholder groups and cross-CRO peers
• Seeks opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Non-Financial Risk Function
• Applies expertise of legislation and compliance requirements and external best practices, to develop and implement recommendations to enhance risk monitoring and reporting
• Leads the delivery of high-impact and/or complex risk initiatives by leading a team and/or utilising own technical subject matter expertise
• Takes appropriate actions to ensure mitigation of risks outside of risk appetite by Risk and Control owners in their coverage area
• Takes responsibility for team delivery and building long-term capability through recruitment and development and coaching activities, supports delivery of training.
Responsibilities:
• Drive coordination within the first line for management of business and technology operational incidents or issues that occur, partnering with relevant 1st line NFR teams business and functional heads as well as relevant 2nd line risk partners to remediate and resolve
• Execute risk assessments to identify, evaluate and prioritise risk based on likelihood and impact on the business. This will include collaborating with other 1st line functions (Engineering, operations, etc..) to complete Risk and Control Assessments for each business unit. This includes performing an ongoing review of the control environment, and risk profile, as well as providing management reporting on key risks and remediation plans for LCH Ltd.
• Take ownership of bringing together an aggregated control framework and assurance for the CCP.
• Ensure control framework takes into account and aligns with Group frameworks.
• Lead LCH ltd planning, delivery and reporting progress on operational resilience, control enhancements, coordinate risk reporting and MI to support LCH Ltd leadership and risk committees to perform their duties and make risk-based decisions.
• Establish robust governance within the business services to support risk-based decisions, including regular risk forums with clear escalation pathways.
• Ensure Group Risk policies and standard are adhered to within LCH ltd, coordinate attestations and policy change oversight.
• Identify, assess and mitigate non-financial risks arising from people, processes, systems and external events
• Coordinate the design and execution of risk assessment, control testing and scenario analysis
• Strengthen organisational resilience by improving governance, controls and business continuity planning
• Ensure adherence to regulatory expectations and internal risk management frameworks
• Provide LCH Business Controls Officer and ForexClear Leadership Team with clear, actionable risk insights to support informed decision making
