The Momentum Program advances MaRS’ mission by supporting ventures that are scaling transformative technologies, typically companies generating $5M–$100M in ARR or those that have secured more than $20M in external financing.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for both program leadership and portfolio impact, overseeing venture engagement, program strategy, and cross-functional coordination across the MaRS ecosystem. This role works directly with founders and executive teams navigating complex scaling challenges including go-to-market expansion, product evolution, capital strategy, M&A opportunities, and organizational growth.

The Senior Manager serves as a trusted partner to scale-stage founders, helping translate their priorities into actionable support by mobilizing MaRS resources, advisors, and ecosystem partners. This role also plays a key role in shaping how the Momentum Program evolves to meet the changing needs of Canada’s most ambitious technology companies.

Translate venture needs into actionable support by connecting founders to relevant advisors, programs, and resources across the MaRS ecosystem.

Identify key growth milestones and success indicators for participating companies and track progress across the portfolio.

Venture Recruitment & Selection

Lead sourcing, evaluation, and selection of ventures entering the Momentum Program.

Assess venture readiness for scale-stage programming including factors such as market traction, team maturity, capital strategy, and growth potential.

Collaborate with investors, ecosystem partners, and internal teams to identify high-potential companies.

Advisor & Ecosystem Engagement

Cultivate relationships with advisors, investors, industry leaders, and ecosystem partners to strengthen the program’s network and value proposition.

Mobilize advisors strategically to support venture needs across areas such as go-to-market expansion, capital raising, M&A strategy, and executive leadership development.

Ensure advisor and stakeholder engagement is structured, efficient, and aligned with venture priorities.

Program Operations & Impact Measurement

Oversee program operations including portfolio tracking, venture engagement, and reporting.

Establish metrics and frameworks to measure venture progress, program performance, and ecosystem impact.

Continuously refine program delivery processes to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Work closely with teams across MaRS: including sector teams (Health, Climate, etc.), MarCom, and Legal to deliver coordinated and high-impact support for participating ventures.

Provide leadership, mentorship, or oversight to junior team members or program staff supporting Momentum delivery.
