Job Description
The Role
The Senior Global Demand Generation Marketing Manager is a strategic and execution-oriented leader responsible for designing, launching, and optimizing integrated global campaigns that drive pipeline and revenue for Aiven. This role will be instrumental in fueling both our Product-Led Growth (PLG) motion by driving sign-ups and trials, and our Sales-Led Growth (SLG) motion by generating qualified leads for net new logo acquisition and customer expansion. You will work closely with sales, product marketing, and the content and community teams to create compelling campaigns that resonate with both technical users and senior executive audiences in a crowded market.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and lead the strategy, planning, and execution of integrated, multi-channel global demand generation campaigns to drive measurable results for both PLG and SLG.
• Own the top-of-funnel (TOF) metrics for PLG (sign-ups, trials) and work collaboratively with the Revenue Marketing Director to ensure a seamless handoff to the Growth team for activation and monetization. For SLG, focus on generating high-quality, sales-ready leads and pipeline contribution for net-new logo acquisition and expansion opportunities.
• Craft campaigns that effectively target and engage Aiven's diverse audience, from hands-on developers and data engineers to CTOs and VPs of Engineering. Ensure messaging and content are tailored to address the unique needs and pain points of each persona.
• Partner closely with global sales teams to align on sales objectives and to develop joint campaign strategies and sales plays to accelerate pipeline generation and deal velocity.
• Provide sales enablement materials (e.g., messaging guides, playbooks) that empower sales to effectively follow up on marketing generated demand.
• Continuously monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance against key KPIs (e.g., MQLs, SQLs, pipeline, sign-ups, trial conversions, ROI). Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for optimization, A/B test new approaches, and improve overall campaign effectiveness.
• Work seamlessly with Product Marketing to translate product value propositions into compelling campaign narratives and collaborate with the Content & Community team to leverage thought leadership and technical content for demand generation.
• Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and innovative demand generation tactics. Proactively identify opportunities to differentiate Aiven's campaigns and break through market noise with creative, outside-the-box approaches.
Ideal Candidate:
• 5+ years of progressive experience in global demand generation or integrated marketing roles within a B2B SaaS company, preferably in the developer tools or data infrastructure space
• Proven track record of successfully developing and executing campaigns that drive both PLG (sign-ups, trials) and SLG (pipeline, revenue) outcomes.
• Strong understanding of the sales funnel and pipeline dynamics. Highly analytical with experience using marketing automation, CRM and analytics platforms to track, measure, and optimize campaign performance.
• Demonstrated ability to create compelling marketing programs for both technical and executive audiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across sales, product, and marketing teams globally.
• High-Energy & Innovative: A proactive, results-oriented individual with a high pace of work, a growth mindset, and a passion for identifying and implementing innovative demand generation strategies to differentiate Aiven.
