Senior Manager, Engineering Operations

The Senior Manager, Engineering Operations is a high-impact individual contributor who owns and drives CLEAR’s most critical cross-functional technology programs. You will create clarity, alignment, and predictable execution across Engineering, Product, and partner teams ensuring complex, high-stakes initiatives deliver measurable business, member, and compliance outcomes.

What you’ll do:

• Own end-to-end delivery of CLEAR’s most strategic technology programs (e.g., security and compliance initiatives, platform transformations, AI/automation programs), from definition through launch and steady state

• Act as the single-threaded leader across Engineering, Product, Security, GRC, and Operations—driving alignment on scope, milestones, dependencies, and outcomes

• Build and manage integrated program plans tied to company OKRs, ensuring clear ownership, realistic timelines, and visibility into risks and tradeoffs

• Establish and run effective program governance (cadences, steering forums, decision frameworks) to enable fast decisions and “no surprises” execution

• Evolve CLEAR’s Technology Operating System by introducing scalable mechanisms (e.g., roadmaps, KPIs, risk tracking, reporting) that improve how we plan, execute, and deliver cross-cutting work

How you’ll measure success:

• On-time, high-quality delivery of strategic programs against defined scope, milestones, and outcomes

• Clear, consistent executive visibility into program health, risks, and tradeoffs

• Reduction in delivery risk through proactive issue identification, mitigation, and decision-making

• Adoption and effectiveness of scalable program governance and operating mechanisms across Technology

What you’re great at:

• 8+ years of experience in program management, engineering operations, or similar roles within technology organizations

• Strong technical fluency (e.g., cloud, SaaS, security, data/AI) with the ability to partner deeply with engineering and product leaders

• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs and drive alignment across senior stakeholders without direct authority

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, executive-ready narratives

• Highly organized, detail-oriented operator who thrives in ambiguity and builds structure that enables teams to move fast

The base salary range for this role is $185,000-$230,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR’s total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units
