The Toast Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Program provides a coordinated, company-wide approach to identify, measure, monitor, mitigate, and treat risks while enabling the business to innovate and deliver quality products and solutions to serve our customers.

Toast, Inc. seeks an experienced Disaster Recovery Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's disaster recovery plan to ensure the rapid recovery of critical IT systems and infrastructure in the event of a disaster or major outage. This role focuses on the technical aspects of disaster recovery, including data backup and recovery, system failover, and infrastructure resilience.

Work Mode: Hybrid (2-3 days in office)

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Own and mature the enterprise Disaster Recovery Program.

• Design and maintain Disaster Recovery policies, standards, and plan templates

• Partner with technical teams to prioritize, guide, and oversee the development of Disaster Recovery Plans for critical systems and infrastructure.

• Oversee regular Disaster Recovery testing and exercises to validate recovery capabilities and track remediation.

• Provide training and enablement programs for technology teams on disaster recovery procedures

• Respond to and support disaster recovery related documentation requests or actions from third party partners and regulatory agencies

• Ensure alignment and integration between the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity programs

• Directly manage the Business Continuity Manager, who oversees the rollout and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) across the organization

• Provide Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity program status, risk visibility, and reporting to senior leadership

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Bachelor’s Degree required.

• 10+ years of overall experience with at least five (5) years of experience in a disaster recovery or resiliency management role at a fintech, bank, technology company, auditing, or consulting firm.

• Demonstrate experience in directly managing and developing personnel within a formal leadership capacity

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of disaster recovery and resiliency management practices.

• A strong understanding of common IT, infrastructure, cloud-based technology, and data center configurations, terminology, controls, and recovery practices.

• At least one of the relevant certification(s) such as the Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), ISO 22301 Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM), Business Continuity and Resiliency Professional (BCRP) or other business continuity professional certification.

• Strong critical and analytical thinking, decision-making, innovative problem-solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to drive action and build consensus among cross-functional stakeholders. Detail-oriented strong project management skills with the ability to meet firm deadlines.

• Ability to adapt in challenging and changing situations, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty.
