Given the rise in cybercrime and large-scale DDoS attacks on the Internet, our defense services are essential for protecting IONOS and our customers. We safeguard against various Internet threats, including attacks and data theft. To achieve this, we operate a global network of scrubbing centers, providing terabit-level attack filtering capacity. Furthermore, our distributed security platforms effectively leverage our own global Internet backbone.

Tasks

Lead the future of IONOS defense portfolio — as Sr. Manager Defense Platform Services you will own the vision and roadmap of our defense services. On top of that, your responsibilities are:

• Lead an international, distributed team of highly skilled security experts and team up with network engineers and architects, information security, cloud teams, software development and sales.

• Define and execute the strategy and roadmap for DDoS defense, Content Delivery Network (CDN), Web Application Firewall (WAF), and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) capabilities in partnership with senior leadership.

• Create product requirements, drive strategic initiatives, and guide the team to deliver innovative solutions.

• Partner with professional services and pre-sales teams to onboard new tenants and enterprise customers and ensure successful implementation and delivery.

• Establish and own service levels and KPIs (e.g., availability targets, mean time to detect/mitigate, false-positive rates) and publish regular DDoS threat and trend reports.

Qualifications

You have studied Computer Science/Engineering or have completed comparable education. You have a keen interest in security topics and have the following qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in network security as security architect, solutions architect, product management or professional services engineer.

• 2+ years of leadership experience with strong team management skills, preferably in international environments.

• Comprehensive expertise and proven hands-on experience with DDoS on-premise and cloud solutions; knowledge of web application protection, packet inspection, and hardware offloading is desirable.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal, ability to interact effectively with executives, engineers, stakeholders and customers.

• Proven project management experience; understanding of key standards such as ISO 27001, BSI C5, and NIS2 preferred.

• A strategic and proactive mindset — you think ahead and act fast.

Language: English required, German is a plus
