About the Team

As a key technical leader, your role is to go beyond traditional solution consulting. You will leverage your deep, production-level expertise from native AI and hyperscaler environments to articulate how Workday delivers a unified, intelligence-driven future.
You will partner with Account Executives to conduct highly technical and strategic discovery sessions, ultimately delivering relevant, impactful architectural roadmaps and demonstrations. Your success will be measured by your ability to clearly illustrate how Workday’s enterprise applications, built on a secure and scalable cloud, address the most complex technical requirements, solve business concerns with AI-backed solutions, and create verifiable value for the enterprise. You are the final technical authority that closes the deal.

About the Role

As the Manager of the Enterprise Architects team, you serve as the technical linchpin of our most critical sales cycles. We are seeking a highly specialized leader whose credibility is built on deep, current engineering expertise, not just solution management.

This role is paramount to both the Presales and Sales teams, requiring a leader who transitions seamlessly from the deepest technical architectures to high-level business strategy. Focus areas for this role would be :

• People Management: Be a role model in people management: develop trust and motivation of the Solution Consulting team; ensure fair treatment of employees and continuous fact-based performance feedback is provided by Solution Consulting management to direct reports, as well as regular and open communication; strive to retain, reward and develop our best talent; develop all Solution Consulting resources to best support business needs; continually attract new talent in support of our vision/goals, act quickly in addressing under performance situations; ensure excellence in all people related processes.

• Consulting processes, complex sales management and innovation selling, building and motivating high performing teams.

• Serve as a “Business Partner” to the Regional Sales Directors in deciding on focus industries, account/opportunity strategy, solution positioning and approach, win themes, value propositions etc.

• Planning: Contributes to ANZ HCM GTM plan and develops a Solution Consulting plan (resources, skills, processes, etc) aligned with budget and productivity objective.

About You

Basic qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing or leading a high-performing, technically focused Presales or Solution Architecture team.

• Minimum 10 years of deep technical domain experience in Cloud Architecture, AI/ML, or specialized platform engineering.

• A Master's Degree preferred (or Bachelor's equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML Engineering, or Cloud Architecture, or equivalent work experience demonstrating deep technical knowledge.

• Demonstrated ability to architect, deliver, and influence compelling, technically rigorous presentations on complex platform and AI solutions to C-level technical executives (CIOs, CTOs) and engineering audiences.

• Ability to get hands-on and conduct demonstrations on specific Workday technical capabilities to executive audiences

• Proven mastery of large-scale cloud architecture, integrations, and data governance in hyperscaler environments.

• Established track record of technical decision-making under pressure, logically resolving architectural disputes and translating complex facts into decisive actions.

• Ability to lead and successfully execute on multiple, competing, high-priority sales projects simultaneously. 

• Exceptional ability to technically influence and motivate highly skilled, cross-functional engineering and architecture teams.

Other Qualifications
 

We require a candidate whose technical fluency is rooted in real-world, production experience within leading cloud and AI organizations:

• Translational Technical Leadership: The ability to move seamlessly between hands-on architectural design and exceptional communication with technical C-level executives (CIO/CTO). You must translate deep technical capabilities into strategic business value.

• Cloud Architecture Mastery: Deep, hands-on technical expertise in modern cloud architecture, large-scale data governance, and deployment methodologies within major hyperscaler environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). You must possess the authority to architect and defend complex enterprise-level solutions.

• Agentic AI Prototyping or Implementation Experience: Proven in-depth knowledge and implementation experience with current AI technologies, including LLMs, Agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, Vertex AI, Flowise, vector databases, and real-time AI inference systems. This should be practical knowledge, not just theoretical.

• Security and Compliance: Expert knowledge in data security, privacy, and compliance requirements essential for deploying AI and cloud solutions in highly regulated markets (e.g., Public Sector, Finance).

• Technical Solution Delivery: A collaborative and customer-focused mindset with a track record of designing and delivering tailored, complex technical solutions that directly address critical customer pain points.

• Technical Velocity: A relentless commitment to continuous learning and adaptability, specifically around the fastest-moving areas of technology: cloud platform evolution, SaaS innovation, and machine learning techniques.
