The Senior Low Current Technician is responsible for leading on-site low current installation and testing activities, ensuring proper implementation of system components such as sensors, cabling, panels, and devices. Providing technical guidance to junior technicians, performing advanced troubleshooting, and verifying that installation practices align with approved designs and specifications.
Structured Cabling Installation Certification (e.g., BICSI Installer Level I or II – preferred).
• System-specific training (e.g., CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access Control, AV equipment).
• Basic testing and troubleshooting tools training.
• Occupational health and safety training.
Requirements:
Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing a wide range of low current systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Skilled in troubleshooting system issues using test equipment (e.g., OTDR, TDR, multimeter).
• Knowledge of standards and best practices related to cabling, grounding, and device installation.
• Familiarity with system integration basics and coordination with other trades (e.g., electrical, HVAC).
