About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Linux Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with more than 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux and cloud infrastructure, and strong exposure to Hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud). The ideal candidate has a system engineer–level background, is highly skilled in Linux OS administration, understands Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) concepts, and has proven experience in patching, security updates, and infrastructure operations.

This role is operations and platform focused, emphasizing system reliability, OS management, and infrastructure support, rather than cloud architecture design.

What You’ll Do

• Manage, support, and troubleshoot hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises platforms and cloud services (Azure and GCP)

• Operate and maintain virtualized environments, primarily VMware

• Perform end-to-end Linux OS lifecycle management, including pre-patching validation, patch deployment, post-patch verification, and coordination across multiple environments

• Administer and support enterprise Linux operating systems, including: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and SELinux-enabled distributions, Rocky Linux, SUSE Linux, and Ubuntu.

• Manage Linux OS storage and filesystem operations, including LVM, mounts, disks, and filesystem tuning

• Act as a senior system administrator, delivering expert-level troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis

• Apply security updates and vulnerability remediation using Tanium caching tools on Linux systems

• Support infrastructure reliability and operational excellence using basic SRE principles, including monitoring, availability, and incident response

• Troubleshoot system and application issues related to DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and networking fundamentals

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and/or Python

• Work with cloud vendors (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) to open, manage, and resolve support cases and infrastructure incidents

• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in spoken English

• Support technical evaluations of other consultants when required, contributing to the assessment of skills and alignment with project needs

What You Bring

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux and cloud infrastructure environments

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and infrastructure automation workflows (operational support, not architecture/design)

• Strong RHEL and enterprise Linux background

• VMware-focused infrastructure specialist

• Comfortable operating in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments

• Strong background in patching, security, and automation

• Self-directed and able to operate independently without close supervision

Nice to have:

• Expert-level experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), including cluster design, HA/DRS, vMotion, performance tuning, capacity planning, and advanced troubleshooting in Linux-based enterprise environments

• Advanced networking knowledge (VLANs, routing, firewalls)

• Experience working in large-scale or regulated enterprise environments

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
