Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel or Legal Counsel to provide general and specialty legal guidance across Hudl’s global business. You’ll be a key partner in minimising risk while driving our business forward, acting as a versatile generalist with deep expertise in one or more specialty areas.

In this role, you’ll:

• Lead legal specialties. You’ll be primary attorney for functional areas like privacy, IP, employment, or M&A, creating scalable policies that balance legal protection with our aggressive business goals.

• Be a versatile generalist. You’ll work across multiple legal areas including vendor contracts, sales agreements and data protection with the ability to juggle priorities.

• Be a strategic advisor. You’ll research risk factors and provide proactive, clear guidance to leadership, translating complex legal issues into actionable advice for non-lawyers.

• Negotiate and collaborate. You’ll draft complex agreements and build relationships of trust with external parties and regulators, while training internal teams on legal best practices.

For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our offices in London. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.

Must-Haves

• Legally qualified. You are admitted to practice law in your jurisdiction (or can obtain in-house registration within six months) and have at least six years (Senior Legal counsel) or 4 years(Legal Counsel) of experience at a law firm or as in-house counsel.

• A project management mindset. You don't just spot problems; you build scalable processes and templates that help the entire company move faster.

• Technically curious. You have a strong understanding of how legal principles apply to modern SaaS businesses and are comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office to manage your work.

• An elite communicator. You have exceptional writing skills and the ability to coach and mentor junior staff and non-attorney colleagues.

Nice-to-Haves

• Tech industry experience. If you’ve spent time navigating the legal landscape of a high-growth technology company, that’s a major plus.

• Global perspective. Experience working with international teams or coordinating with local counsel across different geographic regions will set you apart.

Our Role

• Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time above any required statutory leave, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.

• Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.

• Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.

• Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.

• Support your wellbeing. Depending on location, we offer medical and retirement benefits for employees—but no matter where you’re located, we have resources like our Employee Assistance Program and employee resource groups to support your mental health.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below—starting salaries will typically fall near the middle of this range.

We make compensation decisions based on an individual's experience, skills and education in line with our internal pay equity practices.

This role will also be eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award. Any bonuses awarded are based on individual and company performance paid at Hudl's discretion.

Base Salary Range
£80,000—£150,000 GBP

Inclusion at Hudl

Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.

We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports.

We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.
