Role Overview
As Foreperson/Supervisor, you will oversee the successful execution of landscape construction projects, ensuring exceptional workmanship, efficient crew coordination, and adherence to project timelines. You will work closely with the design team and management to deliver projects that reflect the highest industry standards.
Core Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to landscape construction crews of 2–5 team members
Interpret and implement landscape design plans with accuracy and attention to detail
Coordinate daily site operations, sequencing, and material requirements
Oversee installation of hardscape elements including patios, retaining walls, pathways, and structural features
Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations
Monitor schedules and maintain consistent project progress
Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability
Operate and oversee operation of equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, and sod cutters
Maintain organized, professional, and safe jobsite conditions
Review site documentation and ensure accuracy of daily reporting
Conduct regular site inspections and address issues proactively
Mentor and support crew members to enhance skill development and performance
Professional Requirements
Minimum 3+ years experience leading and supervising landscape construction crews
5 years experience in landscape construction
Demonstrated expertise in hardscape installation including retaining walls and paving stone patios
Proficiency operating skid steer and mini excavator
Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset) with clean abstract
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage physically demanding work and lift 50+ lbs
Comfortable working extended hours when required to meet project timelines
Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment
Legally eligible to work in Canada
Required Certifications
CSTS 2020 certification
Standard First Aid certification
Leadership for Safety Excellence considered an asset
