Senior JavaScript Software Engineer - IT Web Department

As a Senior JavaScript Software Engineer working in our office in Cluj, you will join a team that works on Garmin’s website, supporting the discovery of Garmin products.

Our mission is to create an excellent online product discovery that makes it easy for customers to learn and purchase Garmin products.

From a high level point of view, our team’s main responsibility is garmin.com with all its encompassing features: product page, category page, build your own watch and others.

• We’re organized in squads, each with engineers spread between Cluj and our US main office in Olathe, KS, allowing each squad to work and deploy code independently
• Highly collaborative product development process, closely working with Product Owners, BAs and Project Engineers on compelling new features for our global users

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript application development including asynchronous programming, Promises, ES6
• Proven experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or similar
• Experience with server-side programming using NodeJS
• Experience with responsive web design
• Familiarity with unit and automation testing concepts and technologies
• Experience with development processes including version control, automated testing, security, and performance considerations across modern browsers

Would be a plus:

• Experience with authorization frameworks like OAuth 2.0
• Experience with monitoring tools like: AppDynamics, Sentry, Kibana
• Experience with search engines like ElasticSearch
• Cloudflare Workers
