Senior (Java/Kotlin/Python) Engineer - GP, Remote: Colombia - Costa Rica, Fulltime

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to join our growing team supporting a leading fintech client. In this role, you will contribute to the development and evolution of a modern digital card experience, working across backend and frontend systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and analytics to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that enhance the end-user experience.

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes ownership of delivering impactful features.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver features and initiatives aligned with quarterly goals, guiding technical execution from concept to production.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and analytics partners to shape solutions, define technical approaches, and evaluate trade-offs.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and modern web applications.

Proactively identify technical, process, or product challenges and drive solutions.

Ensure system reliability and performance by implementing monitoring, metrics, and operational best practices.

Promote a culture of quality through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.

Mentor and support other engineers by providing constructive feedback and technical guidance.

Requirements

4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

Strong experience building and scaling backend systems using technologies such as Python or Kotlin.

Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), relational databases (MySQL), and containerized environments (Kubernetes).

Experience developing modern web applications using frameworks such as React or Vue.

Solid understanding of software design principles and ability to create scalable, maintainable architectures.

Experience working within large codebases and implementing safe, incremental changes.

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.

Proven ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and deliver results.

Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Experience working in fintech or consumer-facing product environments.

Familiarity with mobile ecosystems.

Experience working in distributed or nearshore teams.
