We are looking for a Senior Java Full-Stack Engineer to accelerate product development and get more done for the overall roadmap for their flagship workforce management offering HotSchedules Labor. The team actively uses AI coding agents as part of daily development workflows to move faster and deliver higher-quality code — candidates must be comfortable and experienced working this way. Currently, the team is international with developers and QA from Ukraine, Latin America and the US. This will be a perfect opportunity to master your English language skills as many meetings are conducted in English. Most devs in the team are full-stack engineers although the backlog is heavier on backend tasks, hence some experience in front-end development (React 18, Redux) will be needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new features from the product backlog

• Develop REST services to support high-volume, low-latency web and mobile apps

• Design and implement DB schema changes (MS SQL Server) and maintain Flyway migrations

• Maintain existing codebase, including legacy Backbone.js modules

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development, improve code quality, and boost productivity

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team best practices

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Java 11

• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring JDBC)

• Experience with MS SQL Server and writing/maintaining database migrations (Flyway)

• Practical experience working with React 18 (Redux, Material UI or similar component libraries)

• At least 6 months of hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in day-to-day development workflows — this is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have

• Experience with the Gradle build system

• Experience with both AWS (S3, SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda) and Azure (Service Bus, Blob Storage) is a plus

• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is nice to have

• English - upper-intermediate, Ukrainian - advanced or higher
