Senior Java Backend Engineer

Quento Technologies S.A. seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our team and help us build reliable, scalable backend services. You will work with modern Java technologies, cloud-native tools, and distributed systems.

Your responsibilities will entail:

• Develop backend services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot;
• Build and maintain REST and gRPC APIs;
• Develop cloud-native applications on Azure, including deployments on AKS (Kubernetes);
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases;
• Use Kafka for asynchronous messaging;
• Implement caching solutions such as Redis;
• Create and maintain unit tests;
• Use Docker and CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying services;
• Troubleshoot and improve performance of existing services;
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.

Requirements:
• 3–5+ years of experience in backend development;
• Strong knowledge of Java (17+) and Spring Boot;
• Experience with Azure and Kubernetes/AKS;
• Good understanding of REST and gRPC;
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases;
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems;
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines;
• Familiarity with caching tools like Redis;
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
