The team

Hitachi Digital Services Vietnam is part of a 300 strong global delivery network, supporting Hitachi Digital Services around the globe. Our employees collaborate with teams in Japan, India, Portugal, and the US, servicing customers worldwide and working on a huge variety of projects. From cloud migration to digital modernization and advanced analytics, offering operational excellence, agile delivery, and plenty of energy to work on huge transformation projects for our customers.

The role

The Senior Japanese Speaking Mobile Developer will involve developing mobile applications for a banking system. This role needs to communicate with Japanese clients for requirements, issue clarifications to make sure that there is no gap in the understanding between customer and project team.

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using Java and Kotlin.

• Implement and maintain a clean architecture and scalable codebase structure.

• Collaborate on design systems and produce clear technical diagrams and documentation.

• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively in Japanese.

• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes and explore Cloud integration opportunities.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in software development, information technology or related fields.

• Excellent communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N1 or N2); English proficiency is a plus.

• At least 3 years of working experience in developing mobile applications in Java and Kotlin.

• Good understanding of design patterns, architectural principles, and system design.

• Familiarity with Swift and iOS development (nice to have).

• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
