Position Summary
As a Senior IT Systems Administrator, you will have a hands-on role in managing and optimizing FlexCar’s cloud-based IT infrastructure (AWS). You will be responsible for the availability, security, and scalability of systems supporting our rapidly growing, multi-country operations. Acting as a technical owner of core IT services, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support business growth and continuous improvement in a cloud-first environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage, maintain, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Own and administer core IT services including Google Workspace, identity and access management, endpoint management (Microsoft Intune), and key SaaS platforms.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions in AWS.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and cloud costs, proactively optimizing resources and configurations.
• Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis for complex infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
• Manage and continuously improve IT support operations using ticketing systems, ensuring efficient handling of incidents, service requests, and escalations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand business needs and deliver secure, scalable cloud-based solutions.
• Work with external vendors and managed service providers, ensuring technical alignment and SLA compliance.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and IT standards.
• Support compliance with GDPR, internal data protection policies, and security best practices.
Requirements:
• At least 4 years of experience in IT Systems Administration, with strong exposure to cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g. EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, monitoring & security tools).
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience working with IT ticketing systems (e.g. Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Zendesk or similar).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments (VPNs, security groups, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures in the cloud.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate effectively in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
