Practice Area

BCG Platinion launched in Germany in 2000 to add deep technical expertise to the Boston Consulting Group’s existing capabilities. Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.

We support our clients’ total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion’s interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.

What You'll Do

As a Senior IT Architect, you will work closely with case team members to assess and coach our clients' IT teams, define IT strategies, architecture solutions and apply your technical know-how and understanding of business contexts. You will be responsible for owning the delivery for a specific project “module” and help develop technical concepts for that “module”. You will coach other project members and help lead other consultants in their own work stream when possible.

As part of our BCG Platinion consulting team, you would work on a variety of technology topics, applying your architectural consulting skills to strategic technology questions. You will be supported by an extensive training curriculum (the same programme as all BCG consultants), plus technology-specific training and mentoring to help you build your skills.

What You'll Bring

Experience:

Minimum of 6-8 years in cloud architecture and cloud strategy, technical project management, or technology consulting with a proven track record in leading IT implementation projects.
Spanish Mandatory
Fluent in English

Technical Skills:

Proficient in designing cloud architectures, including requirements gathering, conceptual and technical architecture design, high availability and disaster recovery scenarios.
Domain on regulatory compliance for cloud deployments, cloud lock-in avoidance strategies and multi-cloud designs.
Knowledge on infrastructure automation, scalability and cloud components sizing.
Domain on any major CSP portfolio of XaaS services

Desirable Expertise:

Familiarity with regulations and compliance standards relevant to cloud security and privacy (DORA, GDPR, NIS2) and data sovereignty strategies
Experience in developing and enforcing cloud governance policies to ensure cost management, security compliance, and resource optimization within the cloud environment.
Proficient in implementing cloud security strategies, including the use of tools for continuous monitoring and threat detection.

Interpersonal & Leadership Skills:

Analytical Mindset: Capability to evaluate complex IT ecosystems and recommend optimization strategies.
Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively liaise with business and technical stakeholders.
Leadership and Mentorship: Experience guiding development teams and collaborating across departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Industry Experience:

Proven experience working within industries such as Banking, Insurance, Energy, or Telecommunications, delivering tailored IT solutions that meet sector-specific requirements.
