Job Description 

• Engage with technical experts from different domains to address and solve complex Information Security challenges and issues 

• Provide input into infrastructure investment decisions and strategies 

• Provide technical leadership to infrastructure teams in adoption and implementation of security technologies 

• Lead implementation security design/integration of critical initiatives from the Technology Services strategy 

• Provide guidance over general information security activities and concerns of the organization’s infrastructure function including: governance, policy, design, general operational effectiveness and internal controls 

• Provide technical leadership in integration of technologies and products for encryption, LDAP Directory integration, cloud integration, identity management, vulnerability management, 

• Troubleshoot complex systemic issues to identify security issues versus general issues with technology

Job Requirements 

• 15+ years of demonstrable experience to provide the ability to understand and troubleshoot across various level of infrastructure: 

• Networking ( Topology, Routing, Firewall, hardware and so on) 

• Virtualization ( VMware, Oracle) 

• Operating Systems (any/all) 

• Hardware ( Blades and storage) 

• Middleware technologies ( Databases and application containers such as Tomcat, weblogic, etc) 

• Application stack 

• Security 

• Has the ability to immediately understand, work in, and troubleshoot deployment of infrastructure pieces across various network segments that include differing levels of packet filtering 

• Has a deep understanding of various networking and application protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, and so on) 

• Has extensive experience with PKI engineering, implementation, and support. 

• Has the ability to understand and master new, emerging technologies to the level of creating designs based on new technology, while helping to teach and fill in knowledge gaps as needed to other Engineers 

• Demonstrates understanding of technologies to a process level. Can explain the criteria those processes use to execute tasks, and how they interact with network traffic. 

• Has the understanding, experience, and capability to function as and interface with personnel from every role between Help Desk, Desktop Support, Server Administration, Virtualization, and Infrastructure 

• Demonstrates the ability to analyze multiple tasks. To take on some, while delegating others to individuals based on a capability to understand personnel strengths and weaknesses 

• Demonstrates the ability apply to decisively apply judgment to potential infrastructure changes based on weighing multiple factors including risk, benefit, and personnel management 

• Can work to help model and mentor other engineering leads and below 

• Ability to take complex pieces of technology and explain them in a simple and easy to understand way 

• Ability to take complex problem and provide simple and optimum solution 

• Master’s degree in engineering, applied science or mathematics
