Senior Infrastructure Engineer - AWS, Terraform (f/m/x)

About this role

We are looking for Senior Infrastructure Engineers (f/m/x) to strengthen our cloud and platform foundations to help empowering teams to build, deploy, and operate software solutions.

In this role, internally titled Infrastructure Engineer IV, you’ll work at the core of cloud infrastructure, developer experience, and reliability. You’ll design scalable and secure systems on AWS, evolve our infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices, and champion a culture of optimization, observability, and continuous improvement.

You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, translating business needs into resilient platform solutions, and mentoring others to adopt best practices. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we build and operate at scale, influencing both our technology stack and our engineering culture.

The role is based in Berlin or anywhere in the Netherlands, with a bi-weekly commitment to travel to our Berlin or The Hague offices.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and resilient infrastructure on AWS.

• Lead the development and implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Own monitoring and observability strategy using tools like Grafana and Sentry.

• Identify and address sources of technical debt, continuously improve system reliability and performance.

• Mentor mid-level engineers and share knowledge across teams through documentation, reviews, and discussions.

• Communicate clearly about trade-offs, timelines, and priorities, ensuring alignment with product and engineering goals.

• Balance multiple priorities effectively and stay adaptable in a fast-changing environment.

• Proactively improve automation, observability, and deployment pipelines to x^.

What you need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE, or related fields with significant experience in AWS.

• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), GitOps, CI/CD systems, and observability stacks.

• Solid understanding of security best practices.

• Proven ability to take initiative, solve complex problems, and deliver in ambiguous environments.

• Skilled at breaking down complex problems into practical, actionable solutions, prioritizing impact and maintainability over perfectionism.

• Analytical mindset with both technical and product awareness.

• Experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment, comfortable with fast-paced and evolving needs.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluency in English is a must.

Nice-to-have

• Background in cost optimization, compliance, or developer platform enablement.

• Experience with additional observability or security tools beyond Grafana and Sentry.
