Job Title: Senior Implementation Engineer - SDDC

Reports to: SDDC and HCI Team Lead – Francois Fiocre

Business Unit: Cloud and Infrastructure – Hybrid Cloud Practice

Location: Ireland (Belfast/Dublin/Limerick)

Hybrid Working (1-2 Days office per week)

Overview of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Implementation Engineer with proven experience in Broadcom SDDC technologies. The ideal candidate will lead the deployment, configuration, and support of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, vSphere, VSAN, and Aria solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in these platforms, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients. This role will expand to other SDDC and HCI vendor solutions over time.

Key Role Responsibilities

Lead implementation phases for SDDC projects (initially Broadcom), mentoring junior engineers and ensuring best practice delivery.

Deploy, configure, and support VCF, NSX, vSphere, VSAN, and Aria solutions in both greenfield and brownfield environments. Deployment expertise will expand to Nutanix and other SDDC solutions in time.

Implement solutions based on High-Level Design (HLD) or Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation, specifically for Broadcom SDDC technologies.

Contribute to technical design workshops, supporting Solution Architects and Project Technical Leads with Broadcom SDDC expertise.

Assist Pre-Sales Solution Architects with technical SME input on SDDC and HCI opportunities.

Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for VCF, NSX, vSphere, VSAN, and Aria deployments.

Execute and document tests for client acceptance, including knowledge transfer and operational handover for SDDC and HCI platform solutions.

Produce project handover documentation and ensure smooth transition to operational teams.

Collaborate effectively with internal project teams, clients, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

Education, Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven 5 years experience as an Implementation Engineer or similar role with a focus on Broadcom Solutions but additional alternate SDDC and HCI expertise e.g. Nutanix a distinct advantage

Proven hands-on experience deploying and supporting VCF, NSX, vSphere, VSAN, and Aria Suite in a customer facing professional services capacity preferably.

Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 4.x – 5.x) with skills required in vSphere, NSX, VSAN and Aria Suite with at least one at SME level.

Knowledge of adjacent technologies like VMware HCX, vCloud Director, SRM or AVI an advantage

Strong O/S expertise in either Windows or Linux

Data Centre hardware installation experience required (3-Tier, VSAN Ready or VxRail)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Good Documentation skills from an implementation, test and operational procedural document perspective

Excellent problem solving skills

Ability to collaborate in a team environment

Ability to work independently or part of a team

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Certifications

· VMware Certified Professional required

· VMware Certified Advanced Professional desirable
