An exciting opportunity has opened up for an HR Generalist to provide strong HR and administrative support to our Faithful to Nature (FtN) retail teams in Cape Town and Johannesburg. This role, reporting to the HR Manager, will also work closely with the Retail Manager to ensure seamless HR operations that align with FtN’s goals and values.
The position primarily supports the Faithful to Nature brand, with occasional travel to retail locations as required.
You will collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team that values innovation, excellence, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding
Collaborate with management to understand staffing needs and create job
Source, screen, and interview candidates for vacant
Draft and post job
Shortlist and schedule interviews with
Conduct reference checks and verification (qualifications, criminal, ).
Manage onboarding: prepare offer letters, contracts, job descriptions, and collate all necessary documentation (e.g., tax registration, bank details, IDs).
Employee Relations and Culture Building
Address employee queries related to conditions of employment, contracts, and company
Manage grievance processes, disciplinary actions, and performance management
Schedule and prepare documentation for meetings and
Collaborate with leadership to build a “single team” culture across a geographically dispersed retail team.
Support initiatives to align retail teams with company values and
Training and Development
Identify training needs and coordinate training
Assist the team in compiling information for the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR).
Maintain accurate training records and assist with training
HR Administration
Maintain and update employee records, including personnel files and HR
Track and manage leave, absenteeism, and
Payroll
Capture payroll data accurately and in a timely
Resolve payroll queries and ensure compliance with labour
Accurately process leave, overtime, and night shift data on Simple
Policy Implementation
Ensure consistent application of company
Create awareness about company policies and support their
Key Requirements
3-5 years of experience in an HR administrative or supervisory
Relevant qualification in Human Resources or a related
Experience with HR software (e.g., SimplePay, PaySpace) and recruitment platforms (e.g., BambooHR).
Skills and Competencies
Strong attention to detail and
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
High level of flexibility and
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet
Proficiency in computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
Ability to work effectively in a team and
Good knowledge of BCEA and LRA legislation.
