We are looking for a Senior HSE Specialist to be based at our Barcelona production plant, responsible for leading and executing all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities at site level.

This role will have a strong hands-on and operational focus, working closely with Plant Management, Production, Industrialization, Engineering, and Corporate HSE to ensure a safe, compliant, and continuously improving manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant HSE Management

Lead and manage the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System for the Barcelona manufacturing plant.

Ensure the implementation, control, and continuous improvement of HSE procedures in line with corporate standards and local regulations.

Maintain and manage the HSE documentation system for the site.

Health & Safety Operations

Identify, plan, and manage H&S training needs for all plant personnel.

Coordinate and control third-party and contractor access, ensuring proper business activity coordination (CAE).

Manage occupational health and medical surveillance programs for plant employees.

Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and lost-time injuries, leading root cause analysis and defining corrective and preventive actions.

Plan and execute emergency drills, ensuring training and readiness of emergency teams.

Actively support production, industrialization, and process teams by integrating safety considerations into daily operations and new projects.

Environmental Management

Manage the Environmental Management System at plant level.

Ensure compliance with all environmental legal requirements applicable to the site.

Monitor, control, and improve waste generation, segregation, and disposal processes.

Promote environmental awareness and best practices across the plant.

Audits, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

Ensure readiness and active participation in internal and external audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits to identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Drive a continuous improvement mindset in safety and environmental performance.

Promote HSE culture, awareness, and accountability across all levels of the plant.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or qualification as a state-recognized technician or master craftsman.

University degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.

Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (Spanish PRL / equivalent European certification).

Solid knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to industrial environments.

3–5 years of experience in a similar HSE role within a manufacturing or production plant.

Proven experience working in industrial environments with strong operational exposure.

Fluent in English and Spanish is required.

Strong hands-on, results-oriented, and proactive profile.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Continuous improvement mindset.

Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all organizational levels.

Team player, comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced production environment.
