Job Description
About Us:
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop, and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective — providing operators with a decisive edge in contested environments.
We are focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems — not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe, today.
Your mission:
In this role, you will drive the hardware function forward — from electronics, building reliable, scalable and mission-ready UAV systems. This is a highly technical individual contributor role focused on deep engineering expertise, independent decision-making, and solving complex hardware challenges in demanding environments.
Responsibilities:
• Design complex multilayer PCBs and embedded electronic systems for advanced drone and aerospace platforms
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts in Altium Designer
• Own hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and production readiness
• Define robust power, signal integrity, grounding, and thermal architectures
• Collaborate across embedded, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
• Drive technical decisions in fast-paced, mission-critical development environments
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of hardware/electronic design experience
• Strong multilayer PCB, high-speed digital and mixed-signal design expertise
• Advanced Altium Designer experience
• Strong debugging and verification skills using lab equipment
• Experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, automotive, or other safety-critical industries
• Ability to independently lead hardware development from concept to production
Nice to have:
• Experience with ruggedized, airborne, or mission-critical electronic systems
• Exposure to embedded systems, STM32 platforms, or hardware-software integration
• Familiarity with DFM, DFT, and manufacturing-oriented hardware development practices
• Experience with RF systems or telemetry electronics
• German language skills for collaboration with customers and procurement stakeholders
