We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven professional for the role of Senior General Manager – International Business Development to lead and expand our global presence in the pharmaceutical formulations space. This strategic leadership role is ideal for an experienced business development expert with a strong background in Contract Manufacturing and/or Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CMO/CDMO) environments.
The incumbent will be responsible for driving international business growth across key Rest of World (ROW) markets, identifying new opportunities, and building long-term partnerships with global clients. With 20–30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical formulations industry, the candidate should possess deep market insight, commercial acumen, and a proven track record of closing high-value deals.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute comprehensive international business development strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across ROW markets including LATAM, Africa, Southeast Asia, CIS, and the Middle East.
• Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from lead generation and client engagement to negotiation and deal closure.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with global pharmaceutical companies, distributors, and strategic partners.
• Drive revenue growth by expanding the company’s CMO/CDMO service offerings in regulated and semi-regulated markets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, regulatory affairs, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Represent the organization at international conferences, exhibitions, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong expertise in Business Development and international Sales within the pharmaceutical formulations domain.
• In-depth understanding of CMO/CDMO business models, contract manufacturing, and product lifecycle management.
• Extensive experience handling ROW markets and navigating diverse regulatory environments.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
• Proven ability to manage large accounts and drive sustained revenue growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 20–30 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical business development, with significant exposure to international markets.
• Prior experience working with or within a CMO/CDMO organization is highly preferred.
