Senior Full Stack Engineer

Your mission:
At Hypatos, we build vertical AI Agents that automate document-heavy, back-office workflows across enterprise functions like finance, compliance, procurement, and customer service. To scale our impact, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who will design, build, and scale the next generation of AI-powered enterprise automation systems.

This role bridges product and engineering: You’ll develop high-performance web applications, scalable backend services, and robust integrations that enable our AI Agents to transform enterprise workflows. You’ll work closely with Product, AI Engineers, and Delivery teams to ensure we build reliable, intuitive, and secure solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities• Design, build, and maintain full stack applications powering AI-driven automation workflows.
• Develop scalable, user-friendly frontends using React and TypeScript.
• Architect and implement backend services leveraging MongoDB, Postgres, and APIs.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to both design and build LLM-based workflow, contributing to the creation of new AI-powered automation capabilities and their deployment in production systems.
• Ensure application reliability, performance, and security at enterprise scale.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and best practices of the engineering team.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring solutions.
• Work with Product and Delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning

Your profile:
• Background: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience: 5+ years of full stack engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production-grade applications.
• Frontend Expertise: Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and CSS, with experience in building scalable, maintainable UI systems.
• Backend Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Postgres, including schema design, performance tuning, and integrations.
• System Design: Ability to design and implement distributed, high-availability systems.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Best Practices: Strong grasp of testing, code quality, and modern DevOps workflows (CI/CD, Docker, cloud environments).
• Openness & Flexibility: A growth mindset with the ability to adapt to new technologies, workflows, and problem spaces.
• AI Curiosity: First exposure to AI and LLMs — you’re familiar with tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar and eager to learn more.
• Collaboration: Effective at working cross-functionally with Product, AI, and Delivery teams.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, debugging skills, and performance optimization experience.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate ideas, technical concepts, and solutions to diverse audiences, fostering productive collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Nice to Have• Experience with Python or Java in production environments.
• Deeper knowledge of AI and LLMs (e.g., fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or AI integration).
• Exposure to AI/ML-powered products or enterprise automation platforms.
• Familiarity with large-scale enterprise system integrations (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle).
• Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
