As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Engineering (Engage CMS), you will have: :
• Extensive experience developing and maintaining production WordPress applications.
• Proven experience using Pantheon for WordPress hosting, including environment management and performance considerations.
• Hands-on experience working with Pantheon Multidev environments for feature development, testing, and review workflows.
• Hands-on experience using New Relic (or similar, including Pantheon’s integrated tooling) for application performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
• Strong understanding of modern WordPress architecture, including themes, plugins, and core updates.
• Experience integrating CI/CD workflows with WordPress projects.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools effectively in day-to-day engineering work (e.g. code generation, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation).
• Ability to critically evaluate and review AI-generated output to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Solid grasp of web performance, caching, security, and accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.2 AA).
• Experience collaborating with product, design, and QA in a cross-functional team

You have::
• 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining custom WordPress applications in production environments.
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent business experience.
• A keen interest and capability in using AI engineering tools.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, with experience working within the WordPress core, plugin, and theme ecosystems.
• Solid experience with JavaScript, including modern ES6+ syntax and common front-end tooling.
• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive, accessible web design principles.
• Experience with WordPress REST API, custom post types, and custom taxonomies.
• Familiarity with MySQL and performance considerations for WordPress-backed databases.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborating via pull requests and code reviews.
• Exposure to modern build tools and workflows (e.g. npm, webpack, or similar).
• Critical thinker and data-driven, able to identify the right problem to solve.
• Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and self-management skills, and a proven ability to influence others.
• Respect and understanding of other disciplines; including User Experience, Product Development, Quality and Release.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with an ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management.
• Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets).
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment.

This position is based in South Africa. Applicants must be legally authorized to live and work in South Africa and must maintain residency within South Africa throughout their employment. Proof of eligibility and residency will be required upon hiring.
