Role Profile
We are seeking an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Workspace Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimising high‑performance, customer‑facing applications for the LSEG Workspace platform. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering partners to deliver exceptional user experiences while contributing to architectural decisions and advancing engineering excellence across the organisation.
This is a hands-on engineering role with significant scope to influence frontend technology direction and mentor others.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Delivery
• Design and implement high‑quality, scalable frontend applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Deliver features end‑to‑end, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and frontend modernisation initiatives.
• Maintain high coding standards through code reviews, testing practices, and development automation.
Collaboration
• Work with Product and UX teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with backend, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and reliable delivery.
• Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly to stakeholders.
Operational Excellence
• Contribute to improving reliability, performance, observability, and scalability across applications.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Support enhancements in tools, processes, and engineering best practices.
Leadership & Mentoring
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, helping to grow technical capability within the team.
• Participate in technical hiring and team development activities.
• Promote knowledge sharing and engineering excellence across the Workspace organisation.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Expert proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with full‑stack development (any modern backend framework or language).
• Proven experience delivering complex software products in Agile environments.
• Strong understanding of web performance, UI architecture, and accessibility.
• Excellent problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with distributed and cross‑functional engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience building large-scale, data-rich or real‑time applications.
• Strong understanding of design systems and component-driven development.
• High emotional intelligence and strong collaboration skills.
