How you’ll demonstrate Ownership

• Own End-to-End System Integrity: Take personal responsibility for the stability, performance, and operational health (SLOs) of the platform features you deliver, ensuring reliability at industrial scale.

• Drive Complex Project Execution: Lead complex technical projects across multiple teams, defining the technical requirements and execution plans for integrating new application functionality seamlessly into the Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) ecosystem.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

• AI-First Implementation: Design and implement features that surface AI-generated insights, handle data validation, source attribution, and uncertainty levels within the user interface.

• Solve Ambiguous Problems: Apply expertise to solve highly complex challenges and ambiguous problems that may not have a clear solution.

• User-Obsessed Design: Actively partner with Product and Design teams, applying an obsession with the user experience to translate needs into intuitive and high-performing UI architecture.

• Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Proactively mentor junior engineers and peers by sharing complex technical knowledge and creating high-quality documentation to accelerate team competence.

Required Qualifications

• Expert-Level Frontend: 5+ years of experience in professional frontend development with deep expertise in the modern JavaScript ecosystem, including React and TypeScript.

• System Scale & Performance: Experience with performance optimization, managing high-throughput data visualization, and ensuring low-latency interaction for users.

• Platform Building Experience: Experience in designing, building, or managing micro-application architectures or reusable service integrations.

• Data Model Interoperability: Experience making frontend components data-model-aware (e.g., GraphQL, standardized APIs) to ensure seamless integration and state management.

• User-Obsessed Design & Experience: Demonstrated obsession with providing delightful user experiences for both industrial users and developers.

• AI-First Integration Experience: Proven exposure to working with AI in products, including implementing features that surface AI-generated insights or handle data validation and source attribution.

• Architectural Strategy: Proven ability to define and lead technical strategy for complex, ambiguous problems, and drive architectural trade-offs within component and system boundaries.

• Ambiguity Management: Experience leading technical direction with limited guidance, translating high-level business goals into concrete execution plans.

Preferred Experience

• Visualization & 3D/2D: Experience with specialized visualization tools, including dynamic charting components, 2D file viewers, or 3D/data exploration.

• Modern Tooling & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with modern development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and monorepo structures.
