Role Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Engineer to join Kota’s Customer Platform team — the squad responsible for the product our customers actually use to offer and manage benefits. This is the heart of Kota: the app where employers and employees interact with our health, pension, and insurance services. (Note: This is not a platform-as-a-service role or internal tools team. The “Platform” in this context refers to the core customer-facing product, in contrast to our Embed team, which builds tools for third parties to offer benefits to others.)

You’ll use Remix, React Router, and other modern frameworks to build polished, reliable, and responsive user interfaces. We're looking for someone who can balance speed with quality, and who’s excited to shape a product that thousands rely on daily. You’ll work with Remix, React Router, and other modern frameworks to build pixel-perfect, responsive, and scalable UIs. This role is ideal for someone who loves sweating the details, crafting great developer and user experiences, and writing clean, modern frontend code without slowing down the team and most importantly, shipping fast⚡️.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain the core customer product at Kota — this includes both employer and employee-facing UIs.

• Collaborate across engineering, product, and design to ship new features and improvements quickly and responsibly.

• Shape frontend architecture, performance, and maintainability for long-term success.

• Build reusable components and patterns that make the product easier to scale and maintain.

• Ensure a top-notch user experience — fast, intuitive, and accessible.

• Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and debugging production issues.

• Own your code all the way to production — including performance, error handling, and observability.

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years building modern web apps using React and frameworks like Remix, React Router, NextJS, or similar.

• Experience building production apps with strong attention to UI quality and performance.

• Great taste in design and UX — you care about layout, responsiveness, and the final polish.

• Comfortable in fast-moving teams with ambiguity and lots of responsibility.

• Not afraid to make decisions, lead architecture, and advocate for best practices.

• Comfortable owning features end-to-end, including rollout and support.

• Bonus: Experience building design systems, customer-facing financial products, or tools for non-technical users.
