About the Role

At ClickUp, files and media are foundational to how work gets done. From design proofs and video clips to project specs and legal documents, these assets are deeply integrated into every surface of our product. Our success depends on making these interactions seamless, secure, and incredibly fast.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to own the user experience for all file interactions. This is a commitment to performance and user experience at scale. You will be responsible for ensuring that working with files in ClickUp feels instantaneous and intuitive, whether it's a small team uploading an avatar or an enterprise customer streaming high-resolution video. Your work will directly impact millions of users every day and is critical to our success as we expand our customer footprint.

What You’ll Do

• Own and deliver a world-class user experience for all file interactions, from ergonomic uploads with clear, asynchronous feedback to high-performance media previews.

• Architect and implement highly observable, scalable, and resilient frontend systems for file management using Angular, NgRx, and reactive programming patterns.

• Dive deep into performance bottlenecks, using user-centric metrics to eliminate latency and ensure reliable, large-scale content delivery.

• Collaborate across the full system, cooperatively debugging issues from the browser, through our delivery pipeline (CDNs, Lambdas), to our NodeJS services. You'll join a global on-call rotation with your team for the systems you collectively own.

• Mentor other engineers and support best practices in frontend architecture. You'll help create a stable environment for deep work by driving thoughtful planning and clear, pragmatic roadmaps.

Who You Are

• You are a pragmatic, hands-on engineer who thrives on cooperatively solving complex frontend needs and has a proven track record of shipping focused, end-to-end projects.

• You have deep expertise in a modern frontend framework (like Angular or React) and a strong command of reactive programming and state management patterns.

• You have an obsession with performance and observability. You don't just fix bugs; you instrument, measure, and understand user-centric metrics to drive lasting, systemic improvements.

• You are not afraid to cross boundaries. You see the full delivery stack—from S3 and Lambda to the browser—not as a black box, but as part of the system you are responsible for improving.

• You consistently solve problems that others can't and act as a support multiplier for the team you work with.

• You justify your technical understandings with data and clear reasoning, delivering solutions that are secure, performant, and maintainable.
