Role Overview

Eats Web Engineering is the core frontend team powering Coupang Eats, owning 16 web applications across five high-growth business verticals: Customer, Delivery, Merchant, Ads, and CRM, serving both Korea and Japan markets. As Coupang Eats rapidly expands in the O2O space, our team's scope continues to scale exponentially tackling challenges from high-concurrency ordering systems to real-time delivery tracking, from intelligent marketing platforms to merchant advertising solutions. Beyond delivering business features, we build internal platforms including Web Monitoring and Windows App CICD that drive engineering excellence across the organization. Our tech stack spans React, Vue, Next.js, and Node.js.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll gain comprehensive growth opportunities: leading end-to-end architecture design, delivering cross-market projects, and building platform-level tooling. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to ship complex systems, rapidly accumulate experience with large-scale user-facing products, and build a strong foundation for advancing into senior technical or leadership roles.

What You Will Do

• Participate in the design and development of Coupang’s web platform and related products, ensuring delivered features have strong performance, maintainability, and scalability

• Work under the guidance of staff engineers to independently own the design and implementation of medium-complexity modules

• Take responsibility for module-level performance optimization, code quality improvements, and user experience enhancements

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, backend, product, QA) to ensure efficient delivery of business requirements

• Help diagnose and resolve functional issues and performance bottlenecks in both pre-production and production environments

• Keep track of frontend technology trends and selectively introduce them to improve delivery efficiency and quality

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of total experience

• 5+ years of web frontend development experience, with participation in large-scale internet application development and maintenance

• 1–2 years of experience as a core contributor or technical lead for projects, capable of independently delivering module-level design and implementation

• Proficiency in at least one mainstream frontend framework (React, Vue, etc.) and its ecosystem, with practical production experience

• Familiarity with backend API design and debugging workflows, with practical experience collaborating with backend teams

• Experience with frontend engineering tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel, CI/CD, etc.)

• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills, English workable

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in building and maintaining multilingual, cross-regional web projects

• ·Experience developing high-performance web applications using NodeJS/SSR

Type of work model

• Hybrid

Our Hybrid work model: Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week, depending on the role requirement. Some businesses may require more time in office due to nature of work.
