About the Role :
We’re hiring an AI Design Engineer who operates at the intersection of product discovery, design, frontend engineering, and AI systems. This role is for someone who can identify the right problems to solve, shape AI-powered solutions from first principles, and ship polished, production-ready experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead product discovery for AI opportunities across new and existing products
• Frame ambiguous problems into clear, AI-powered product concepts and demos
• Design and build AI-first user experiences and workflows
• Own interaction design for probabilistic, non-deterministic systems
• Prototype rapidly, validate with users, and iterate based on evidence
• Build frontend and application-layer components supporting AI features
• Design conversational, assistive, and automated product experiences
• Partner closely with AI and backend engineers on feasibility, constraints, and tradeoffs
• Define reusable AI UX patterns, standards, and interaction models used across products
Requirements:
• Strong background in product design and frontend or application engineering
• Proven ability to ship real production products, not just prototypes
• Experience working on AI-powered or data-driven products
• Strong discovery skills: user research, problem framing, hypothesis testing
• Deep understanding of UX patterns for trust, feedback, and uncertainty
• Comfortable moving fluidly between design tools and code
• Strong systems thinking and product judgment
• Ability to operate independently in early-stage, ambiguous environments
• Experience leveraging AI coding IDEs and agents such as Cursor and Claude
• Languages:** TypeScript and/or JavaScript
• Frontend / App layer:** React, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks
• State & data:** REST APIs, async workflows, familiarity with structured and unstructured data
• Design tools:** Figma or equivalent (interactive prototyping, design systems)
• AI integration:** Direct experience working with LLM APIs and AI-driven application flows
• Collaboration:** Comfortable working in shared codebases with backend and AI engineers
• Strong competency in prompt engineering, including:
• Designing prompts as part of the user experience
• Iterating on prompts based on real user behavior and failure modes
• Experience contributing to AI evaluations to guide UX, prompt, and workflow changes
• Strong intuition for how LLMs behave in real-world, production usage
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• LLM platforms: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google
• Interfaces: Chat, voice, or agent-based experiences
• Prompt management and evaluation tooling
• Cloud & services: Vercel, Supabase, GCP
