Senior Front-End Engineer

At Robots & Pencils, we’re looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer to join a newly formed, R&P-led team working on a greenfield web application. In this role, you will help build a modern React-based platform designed to support operational workflows and improve how distributed teams manage their day-to-day activities.

You’ll be working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment alongside product managers, designers, and backend engineers. This is an opportunity to contribute from the ground up - shaping architecture, implementing scalable UI solutions, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to enhance delivery speed and quality.

In February 2025, we opened our new office in Lviv, Ukraine, as part of our ongoing global growth. We’re actively expanding our Ukrainian team and inviting skilled professionals to join us on this journey. You’ll collaborate with a distributed team working on high-impact products with colleagues across North and South America and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications using React

• Translate product requirements and UX designs into clean, reusable, and maintainable components

• Implement front-end features based on user stories within an agile development environment

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, QA, and product teams to ensure seamless integration

• Contribute to front-end architecture, code quality, and best practices

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code efficiency

• Ensure application performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional front-end development experience

• Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3

• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or similar)

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend integration

• Experience building scalable, production-grade web applications

• Familiarity with modern development workflows and tooling

• Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility principles

• Upper-Intermediate English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and cloud-native applications

• Familiarity with containerization or modern deployment practices

• Experience working with AI coding assistants or AI-enhanced SDLC processes
