SENIOR FRONT-END DEVELOPER – React (Contract)

OPENROAD GROUP

Remote Option (must be located in the Greater Vancouver Area)

We are seeking a front-end developer with strong React expertise. In this role, you will contribute to building a new website platform, dealer portal, and e-commerce systems. As the successful candidate, you will be the primary front-end developer, working in an agile environment alongside a team of skilled contract developers and dedicated in-house staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with business stakeholders and the product owner, review business specifications for features, and determine technical solutions to meet feature requirements

Provide accurate estimates on development effort for new or updated features, as well as system bugs

Complete unit testing on all implemented features and bug fixes, prior to passing to QA

Troubleshoot application issues on multiple platforms, including integration, REST services, and web applications

Provide the business with technical guidance on digital solutions

Participate and contribute to sprint planning and daily stand ups

Support marketing and business initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience

3+ years of hands-on experience with React.js, including:

React Hooks – useState, useEffect, useContext

React Router for client-side routing

State management tools – Redux, Zustand or Recoil

Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

Experience with SQL Server – data design, stored procedures, indexing

Familiarity with Content Management Systems

Proficiency with Git and version control workflows

Experience with CI/CD tools e.g. GitHub Actions

Knowledge of JIRA or similar issue tracking tools

Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development

Familiarity with CSS-in-JS libraries e.g. Styled Components, Emotion

Understanding of microservices architecture and rich-client application development

Automotive industry experience or interest is a plus
