We are seeking a highly experienced FPGA Design Engineer with deep expertise in Verilog and/or VHDL and a strong background in the defense, aerospace, or avionics domain. The ideal candidate will have 10–30 years of hands-on experience in architecting, designing, implementing, and validating complex FPGA-based systems for mission-critical applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, rigorous engineering discipline, and familiarity with high-reliability design standards used in defense and aerospace environments.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and design high-performance FPGA solutions using Verilog and/or VHDL for complex embedded systems.
• Translate system requirements into robust RTL designs with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Develop and optimize FPGA implementations for high-speed interfaces, signal processing, control systems, and secure communications.
• Perform RTL simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, place-and-route, and hardware validation.
• Lead FPGA bring-up, debugging, and integration activities at board and system levels.
• Ensure compliance with defense and aerospace standards such as DO-254, MIL-STD, and other safety-critical design guidelines.
• Collaborate with system engineers, hardware designers, firmware teams, and verification engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support verification planning, including testbench development, functional coverage, and regression testing.
• Participate in design reviews, documentation, and configuration management processes aligned with aerospace quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and architectural roadmaps.
Required Skills & Expertise
• Strong proficiency in Verilog or VHDL with extensive RTL design experience.
• Deep knowledge of FPGA development flows, including synthesis, static timing analysis, and hardware debugging.
• Hands-on experience with leading FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera, or similar).
• Expertise in high-speed digital design, SERDES interfaces, DDR memory, PCIe, Ethernet, or custom communication protocols.
• Experience in signal processing algorithms implementation on FPGA is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of clock domain crossing (CDC), reset strategies, and timing closure techniques.
• Experience working within defense, defense electronics, aerospace, aero space, or avionics programs.
• Familiarity with safety-critical and mission-critical design environments.
• Knowledge of configuration management, requirements traceability, and structured documentation processes.
Domain Experience
Candidates must have substantial exposure to defense or aerospace systems, such as radar systems, communication systems, electronic warfare, avionics subsystems, missile guidance systems, or space electronics. Experience working on long lifecycle programs, high-reliability electronics, and secure systems is essential.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–30 years of progressive experience in FPGA design within defense or aerospace sectors.
• Proven track record of delivering complex FPGA projects from concept to deployment.
Key Attributes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.
• Ability to work in structured, compliance-driven environments.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.
