We are currently seeking a Senior Flight Vehicle Systems Engineer to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment.
As a Flight Vehicle Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, integration, and verification of NASA’s Lunar Terrain Vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with subsystem leads to assess design against technical performance measures (TPMs) to ensure healthy design margins
Manage technical budgets, including mass, power, interface utilization, and others
Lead development of select cross-cutting vehicle designs in collaboration with subsystem leads
Develop and maintain internal and external interface control documents (ICDs)
Participate in the creation of analysis plans and test plans in accordance with verification and validation methodologies, and support documentation of test events and traceability back to requirements
Perform system-level modeling and analysis to optimize design performance, reliability, and safety
Assist with management of engineering documentation, including Master Equipment Lists, BOMs, Design Data Books, etc.
Ensure design and process compliance with applicable NASA standards
Collaborate with NASA Insight members in recurring working group sessions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering or related discipline
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
Strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including flight hardware and flight software
Demonstrated experience in requirements management, interface control, and verification planning
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering practices and tools, like Cameo
Experience using requirements management tools like DOORS or Jama
Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet critical deadlines
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Class A spaceflight missions, human space flight, or human-rated vehicle development
Prior experience with ITAR/EAR compliance documentation and handling export-controlled technical data
Previous experience in mission operations, integration, and test campaign design and execution
Any offer of employment for this position is conditional upon Lunar Outpost receiving the LTVS SubCLIN 1C Award from NASA. If the contract is not awarded to Lunar Outpost, this offer will be considered null and void, without further obligation to Lunar Outpost.
Compensation & Benefits: Compensation level and base salary are competitively structured and thoughtfully determined based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and the scope of the role.
