About The Job

Corinex is seeking a highly experienced Senior Field Application Engineer to support the design, deployment, and optimization of our smart grid communication solutions across Spain and Western Europe. In this role, you will serve as a key technical liaison, providing both pre-sales and post-sales support to strategic clients, including utilities and Tier 1 customers. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, customers, and internal development teams to translate requirements into robust system specifications, deliver technical training and presentations, and oversee the deployment, administration, and troubleshooting of advanced network architectures.

The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in networking, embedded systems, and smart grid or related communication technologies, with strong expertise in IP networking, scripting (Bash, Shell, Python), Linux/Windows Server environments, and utility infrastructure. Fluency in Spanish (C1) and proficiency in English are required, alongside excellent communication and client relationship skills. This role is suited for a hands-on, customer-focused engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated to drive the modernization of global energy networks.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain effective communication with the business sector leadership team, team members and functional leadership in all activities required to design, develop and deliver the product successfully.

Provide technical pre-sales and after-sales support via telephone, email, and onsite installation to existing and potential strategic clients located in Spain and Western Europe to secure large volume orders of Corinex products and/or services to utilities and tier 1 customers by well-defined deployment procedures.

Work with customers and the Development team to analyze and translate customer requirements/industry-standard into system and equipment level specifications.

Conduct technical presentations and training sessions for engineers and technical management.

Prepare documents to standardize the deployment of Corinex products and technology for internal teams and third parties. Perform analysis of the field data preparation of specification documents, addressing shortcomings of the existing products; review results on the functioning of Corinex products in the field provided by the Field Applications Engineering team and your observations. Architect, test and implement Smart grid network architectures and support network designs.

Administrate and troubleshoot deployed network designs.

Document, implement and improve processes and procedures.

Assist with the integration of new technologies.

Prepare responses to RFPs.

Prepare collaterals for training and on products that may require technical writing.

Create strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, work colleagues and suppliers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and professionally and foster strong client relationships.

Experience in installing and maintaining networking technologies, ideally in Broadband Powerline (BPL) or similar communication technologies.

Fundamental Electronic skills

Fundamental Signal Injection skills

Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols. Deep understanding of communication infrastructures (TCP/IP, QoS, encryption, etc.).

Fundamental Networking skills: IP routing and switching (DHCP, NAT, VLAN, Security, etc.)

Proficiency in Bash, Shell, and Python scripting for automation, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Experience with SQL-based databases, including SQLite and Microsoft SQL Server, for data analysis and system configuration is a plus.

Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments, including system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Understanding electrical power distribution systems, including grid infrastructure, smart grids, and utility communication networks.

Advanced in Spanish (C1 level) with the ability to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to explain complex technical issues in an understandable way in both languages.
