About Us:
Vault 44.01 (“Vault”) is a leading carbon capture & storage (“CCS”) developer focused on the development, capitalization, and operation of carbon storage assets throughout North America. Vault’s team brings over 90 years of direct carbon storage experience, with involvement in the development of carbon storage projects across North America since 2007.
Vault’s capabilities span technical analysis, project design, permitting, stakeholder engagement, land leasing and acquisition, facility construction, and operations. In collaboration with our industrial partners, we are currently developing CCS projects in the US Midwest, US Southeast, and Canada, focusing on single CO2 source, near-site sequestration projects and including 7 projects currently under contract.
Vault has secured a US$300 million equity capital commitment from Grey Rock Investment Partners (Dallas, TX based private equity company) and has offices in Denver, CO and Calgary, AB.

Purpose: Lead facility planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operation.
Opportunity:
Vault is currently seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer to manage Vault’s facilities engineering, design, construction and commissioning for Carbon Capture and Storage projects. As a key member of the Project and Operations team, the Senior Facilities Engineer will be responsible for oversight of planning layouts, engineering designs, procurement, construction, cost tracking, and commissioning. The role will also support daily operations, inventory management, repairs, and maintenance programs. The responsibility will span all phases of Vault’s facility projects and will include interfacing with internal and external project participants and stakeholders. The position will also contribute to building and championing Vault’s HSE and regulatory management processes.
Vault supports a flexible hybrid work environment with a mix of in-person collaboration and remote work. Emphasis is placed on producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design CO2 compression/capture facilities and pipelines, including primary responsibility for management of external engineering firms and managing installation with field construction partners.
Work with EPC contractors and the construction operations team to ensure quality, schedule, and cost targets are met.
Work with major equipment vendors and host facilities to plan and execute commissioning operations.
Work with subsurface and drilling/completion teams to ensure high quality integrated system design and installation.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to obtain required permits.
Work with field operations to optimize the overall system on an ongoing basis and preserve asset integrity.
Work closely with management to meet schedule, budget, and financial goals.
Champion HazOp and HSE implementation within facilities and pipeline elements of all projects and corporately.
Mentor junior engineering staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (petroleum, mechanical or chemical preferred) with 15 to 25 years of experience working on facilities design, construction and operation (preference for oil and gas industry experience)
Solid understanding of large compression facilities
Pipeline design and construction experience
Professional Engineering License is a plus
Flexibility to travel to project sites frequently during construction
Strong focus on safety, analytical skills, and business acumen
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed – ability to organize activities from multidisciplinary teams
High level of personal and professional integrity
Excellent time management and ability to multitask
Proficient in Office 365 package (skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, MS Project a plus)
