Senior Estimator

1 Resource Group Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join a government-focused construction and infrastructure contractor. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of federal, state, and municipal contracting and proven experience using InEight to develop accurate, competitive, and compliant cost estimates.

The Senior Estimator will lead preconstruction efforts, prepare detailed cost breakdowns, analyze project documents, and collaborate closely with project management, procurement, and executive leadership to ensure all bids meet technical, contractual, and budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of cost estimates for government projects including civil, industrial, and infrastructure work.
• Utilize InEight software to manage estimates, create cost databases, and generate bid proposals.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to determine project scope and technical requirements.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, and bid solicitations for compliance with FAR/DFARS and other government regulations.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs, material pricing, labor analysis, and subcontractor evaluations.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify risk factors, value engineering opportunities, and project efficiencies.
• Prepare cost summaries and reports for executive review and client submission.
• Participate in bid reviews, negotiation meetings, and project handoffs.
• Maintain and update estimating standards, pricing data, and historical cost records within InEight.
• Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance throughout all estimating processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, preferably with federal or public sector projects.
• Strong proficiency with InEight (Cost, Estimate, and Project Controls modules).
• Proven track record of successful bids in government contracting environments.
• In-depth understanding of FAR/DFARS, prevailing wage, and contract compliance requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
