Senior Engineering Manager (m/f/d) – Shared Services

YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

• You lead, mentor, and grow Engineering Managers and Senior Engineers, building high-performing teams with a strong culture of ownership and technical excellence 
• You define and drive the technical direction and engineering strategy for our shared platforms and internal services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term architectural health 
• You remain technically hands-on where it matters — guiding architectural decisions, reviewing designs and code, and ensuring engineering best practices across teams 
• You collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering leadership to align priorities, drive platform innovation, and support fast and efficient product delivery 
• You establish strong engineering processes and standards, ensuring consistency in SDLC, operational readiness, and developer experience across all platform teams 

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

• Leadership You bring extensive engineering experience with a proven track record of leading multi-team organizations as an Engineering Manager of managers 
• Expertise You have deep technical expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, Java-based platforms, and modern frontend technologies 
• Full-stack You understand end-to-end platform engineering, from backend services to frontend frameworks and cloud infrastructure 
• Coaching You excel at coaching Engineering Managers and Senior Engineers, fostering innovation, clarity, and long-term growth 
• Communication You communicate with clarity, influence, and confidence across engineering and business, aligning shared service strategy with product goals and operational needs at scale
