Senior Engineer, Technology II (SAP - Supply Chain Management Solutions)

As a Senior Engineer focusing on SAP Supply Chain Management solutions (including but not limited to LE, IM, WM/EWM), you will be a pivotal force in driving innovation. This role requires you to conceive, design, engineer, and implement data, software, and technology solutions that directly address significant business challenges within the Supply Chain Management function. You will actively investigate, identify, and deploy state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains in AbbVie’s Supply Chain and throughout multiple business areas. Leverage your expertise to serve as a lead engineer and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into high-impact business technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Within systems of SAP (LE, IM, WM/EWM ) an beyond: Conceive, design, engineer, and implement software and technology solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; Demonstrate the ability to resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available information and technical expertise. Be able to Perform and Validate SAP configurations.
• Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to software design and development, programming languages, data integration, data warehousing, data analysis and visualization tools, data storage, network connectivity, and virtualization/cloud environments.
• Demonstrate the ability to design, develop complex SAP solutions, be able to lead design decisions. Additionally, be able to develop test plans including scenarios.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions
• Highly autonomous and productive in performing activities, requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor. Keeps key stakeholders informed through effective verbal and written communication.
• Matures and leverages relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.
• May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience OR Master's Degree with 6 years’ experience OR PhD with 2 years’ experience. 
• Possesses thorough theoretical and practical understanding of engineering discipline.
• Previous experience implementing creative technology solutions that advance business.
• Proven expertise in SAP LE, IM, WM or EWM (both preferred), and integration technologies (API, EDI, IDOCs).
• Demonstrated ability to strategically analyze and develop solutions for complex SAP-related problems.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and consultative approach to work, including demonstrated history of driving tangible enhancements by proactively identifying business improvement areas, proposing solutions, and driving implementation for measurable results.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills, including ability to influence without authority and properly manage expectations of business partners. 

Preferred:

• Pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and familiarity with supply chain management systems.
