AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is seeking a Structural Engineer with demonstrated expertise in the structural design of buildings, with a strong emphasis on data center facilities, to join its Bogotá, Colombia office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in the structural design of building in infrastructure projects, including data centers, through the development of mathematical models, required calculations, and the preparation of calculation reports and technical descriptions.
• Perform structural design for concrete and steel systems typically used in data centers, considering high load demands, vibration criteria, redundancy, and constructability requirements.
• Ensure that all assigned projects are executed in accordance with the company’s quality management system.
• Promote an integrated and multidisciplinary design approach, collaborating across different engineering disciplines.
• Understand and address client requirements and expectations effectively.
• Stay up to date with industry standards, guidelines, and new technologies, and communicate relevant developments to your team.
• Collaborate constructively with colleagues, external partners (e.g., architects, geotechnical, piping, mechanical, and electrical engineers), and clients to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related/ similar fields.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven technical experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the design of concrete and steel structures, in accordance with international standards and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid knowledge of structural analysis and design principles for reinforced concrete and steel structures.
• Familiarity with ASCE, AISC, ACI (AS applicable)
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, Ram Connection, IdeaStatica or similar, and AutoCAD. BIM experience is a plus.
• Advanced technical English both written and spoken.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in structural analysis and design of building structures (including data center facilities) and foundation systems, including shallow and deep foundations, mat foundations, piles, pile caps, etc.
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• English Level: B2
