The Senior Engineer Private Cloud will provide operational support for the LSEG Private Cloud infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Management: Administer, monitor, support, prevent issues, maintain, fix, and improve both virtual and physical private cloud infrastructure.

• Project Support: Provide assistance and support for various projects as needed.

• Shift & Weekend Coverage: Offer coverage during shifts, weekends, and be available on-call when required.

Key Skills:

• Virtualization Technologies: Proficient in VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, and other virtualization platforms.

• HP Servers: Experienced with HP Blades, c7000 enclosures, and HP OneView.

• Storage Solutions: Knowledgeable in HDS VSP/HNAS, including replication technologies such as TrueCopy and HUR, as well as Dell/EMC SAN.

• Virtual Environment Support: Capable of supporting virtual environments using the aforementioned technologies.

• Troubleshooting: Excellent investigation and troubleshooting skills for complex issues.

• Risk Management: Ability to identify and communicate risks (e.g., migration risks, design risks) to management.

• Scripting: Proficient in scripting with PowerCLI.

• Proactive Monitoring: Assist in the proactive prevention of issues by monitoring virtual and physical infrastructure, fixing faults where possible, and escalating unresolved problems to the Tower Lead, Shift Lead, and Management.

• Coordination and Communication: Ensure coordination and communication between the service desk/help desk and technical support teams in critical situations.

• Documentation Maintenance: Keep all documentation and procedures up to date, making necessary changes.

• Effective Management: Ensure effective, proactive monitoring and management, including capacity and performance management, for all relevant systems.

• Minimize Downtime: Ensure system downtime is minimized and recovery meets required service levels.

• Process Evaluation: Evaluate standards and processes involving the support team and highlight areas for improvement.

• Support Implementation: Implement and maintain shift, out-of-hours, and weekend support as appropriate.

• Reporting: Provide regular management reporting.

• Ad-Hoc Duties: Undertake any other duties as required by LSEG management on an ad-hoc basis.

• Security Measures: Work with the BCCP/Security team to ensure effective security measures are implemented.

• Disaster Recovery: Ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place, with regular testing, reporting, and planning updates.

• ITIL Knowledge: Possess knowledge of working within an ITIL environment.
