Required Skills
Job Description
Your mission:
As we continue to grow, we’re building a dedicated engineering team for an exciting new project.
What we can tell you: it is technically ambitious, built entirely from scratch, and operating in a demanding, high-stakes environment. It is the kind of work where engineering decisions genuinely matter.
We are opening this as an unsolicited / open application because the right people for this team are unlikely to be actively looking. If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you now.
What You'll Work On
The specifics remain confidential at this stage. In a first conversation, we will share more under full discretion. What we can say:
• You will be working on a greenfield project
• The work sits at the intersection of autonomous systems, hardware, and software
• You will join a small, senior team where your impact is direct and immediate
• The environment is fast-moving, complex, and requires engineers who thrive with ambiguity
Your profile:
We are looking for experienced engineers across three disciplines:
Mechanical Engineer
• Structural design, actuation systems, mechanisms
• Manufacturing-oriented design
• Experience with lightweight structures or aerial systems a plus
Software Engineer
• Embedded systems, real-time operating systems
• C++ and/or Python, ideally with ROS experience
• Background in flight software, robotics, or safety-critical software development
Systems Engineer
• System architecture, requirements management
• Hardware/software integration
• Verification & Validation, ideally in certified environments
What you bring as a perfect candidate:
The must-haves across all profiles:
• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in aerospace, robotics, UAV, or safety-critical systems
• A strong foundation in your core discipline - we care about depth
• Experience working in cross-functional teams where hardware and software intersect
• The ability to work with ambiguity, incomplete information, and evolving requirements
• High personal standards for quality, precision, and engineering rigour
• Fluent English; German is a plus
As a Mechanical Engineer, you additionally bring:
• Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
• Experience with lightweight or structural design, ideally in airborne or mobile systems
• Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles and working closely with manufacturing partners
• Knowledge of relevant material properties and joining techniques
As a Software Engineer, you additionally bring:
• Strong command of C++ and/or Python in embedded or real-time environments
• Experience with RTOS and/or ROS/ROS2
• A track record in safety-critical or certified software development (e.g. DO-178C, IEC 61508) is a strong plus
• A mindset for writing clean, maintainable, testable code under strict constraints
As a Systems Engineer, you additionally bring:
• Experience in system architecture definition and requirements engineering
• A structured approach to V&V planning and execution
• Ability to bridge between mechanical, electrical, and software teams
• Familiarity with certification or qualification processes in complex systems
What sets the perfect candidate apart:
• You've built something from scratch before - not just maintained or iterated
• You're comfortable in an environment where not everything can be shared openly
• You're motivated by the challenge itself, not just the job title
• You ask hard questions early and take ownership without being asked
What we'll offer:
• A rare opportunity to shape a new business area from day one
• Direct influence on technology choices and system architecture
• A free parking space right at the office – for the days you come in.
• Enjoy attractive employee discounts with corporate benefits on a variety of products and services.
• Join the fun at our employee events and team-building activities.
• Many of our roles offer remote work options and flexible hours to balance your life and work.
• Stay fit with access to EGYM Wellpass – your wellbeing is a priority.
• On two wheels to work? Take advantage of our Business Bike option and commute the healthy way.
Why us?:
• A motivated and supportive team, where every voice is heard, and collaboration drives our success.
• A fast-growing tech startup, where the pace is exciting, and every day presents new challenges and opportunities.
• A place where your ideas can take flight, allowing you to shape and influence projects from the ground up.
• Dedicated to your personal and professional growth, offering opportunities to learn, develop, and thrive.
• A company that values impact, where your work truly makes a difference and contributes to something meaningful.
