Kilo Code is an open-source platform orchestrating AI coding agents, supporting over 500 models from different providers and serving 1.5M+ developers globally. The platform processes 30T+ tokens monthly and is ranked #1 on OpenRouter, competing with tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor. The team consists of 30-35 people worldwide (engineers with 10+ years of experience each) based in the US and EU. Kilo’s culture is fast-paced and built around full ownership: engineers are “mini CEOs” responsible for end-to-end development, direct user feedback, and measurable impact. The company emphasizes speed, transparency, and collaboration, continuously releasing 1-2 major features per week.

Now, we’re looking together for a Senior Software Engineer who will take full ownership of the JetBrains ecosystem area and build features for an open-source AI coding platform.

The biggest challenge in Senior Software Engineer role:
Building and maintaining the JetBrains extension end-to-end, taking full ownership from problem definition, implementation, to production usage and iterative improvement, while ensuring real impact on user adoption and performance.

Daily tasks::
• Building and shipping features for the JetBrains extension end-to-end (from problem definition to production release).
• Designing solutions with AI coding agents and implementing critical parts manually when needed.
• Taking full ownership of a product area, including performance, usage metrics, and iteration.
• Interacting directly with users, gathering feedback, and improving shipped functionality.
• Making independent technical and product decisions in a high-autonomy environment.
• Collaborating asynchronously with a distributed team and contributing to rapid release cycles.

What you’ll need?:
• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Experience building JetBrains plugins (commercially or as a side project).
• Experience working with AI coding agents or AI-assisted development workflows.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end product development (design, implementation, deployment, iteration).
• Ability to make independent technical decisions and operate with high ownership.
• Very good command of English (C1+).
