Position Overview
A well-established aerospace and defense electronics manufacturer is seeking a Senior Electronic Technician to join their growing production team in Irvine, CA. This role is responsible for building, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting ruggedized electronic systems used in critical defense and aerospace programs.
The Senior Electronic Technician will perform hands-on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has strong schematic reading ability, excellent soldering skills, and experience using standard electronic test equipment.
Compensation
$30 – $38 per hour

Responsibilities
Build, assemble, and test ruggedized electronic systems including cameras, recorders, and display units
Read and interpret electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and technical work instructions
Perform troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems down to the component level
Utilize test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, digital voltage meters, and soldering stations
Perform PCB-level rework and hand soldering under a microscope
Support high-mix, low-volume production (typically 5–100 units per run)
Accurately document work performed and maintain quality standards
Requirements
5–10+ years of experience as an Electronic Technician in a manufacturing environment
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field required
Strong experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics and assembly drawings
Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience at the component level
Proficiency using electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, soldering tools)
Experience in regulated environments (aerospace, defense, or medical)
Strong hand soldering skills and PCB rework experience
Must be able to pass a soldering test
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace or defense electronics manufacturing experience
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 environments
IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certifications
Experience with ruggedized or military-spec electronics
Work Environment
High-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
Approximately 85% assembly/testing and 15% repair work
